Summary
Scottie is a smart, scrappy marketing professional newly hired onto a testosterone-heavy team filled with guys named Chad and Brad. Unlike what you’d expect, they’re not fratty bachelors; they’re devoted husbands. In an impulsive moment to fit in and impress her boss, Scottie fakes having a husband of her own. But when her boss’s nosy husband-slash-marriage-counselor gets involved, her white lie spirals into full-blown relationship rehab.
Enter Wilder: improv actor, tattooed tech millionaire, and the younger brother of Scottie’s best friend. Wilder jumps at the chance to play pretend husband—because to him, every problem is just another scene to improv through. He says yes to everything, including the mandatory eight-day marriage retreat Scottie’s company encourages them to attend.
Cue the hilariously themed cabins, ridiculous couple’s therapy sessions, one bed (of course), and fake-arguments-turned-real-banter that blurs the lines between performance and passion.
Told in dual POV, Till Summer Do Us Part is a slow-burn rom-com that builds emotional depth alongside sizzling tension—and proves that sometimes, fake love can lead to the real thing.
My Thoughts
Let’s just say this: I don’t usually laugh out loud when reading. I’m a smirker at best. But Meghan Quinn got me good. One night, during a late night reading binge, I laughed so hard during a therapy session scene that I woke up my husband. True story.
Wilder, the hero, isn’t my typical “book boyfriend” (I lean broody, morally gray, tall-dark-dangerous). He’s got piercings, tattoos, and a boyish energy that completely offsets Scottie’s “jilted and jaded” vibe. But that contrast? It works. His commitment to the improv bit brings such fun to the story, and Scottie’s dry humor balances him beautifully.
This book brings peak rom-com chaos—from improv-fueled arguments to over-the-top, competitive summer camp challenges—all wrapped in heartfelt therapy moments that had me snort-laughing one minute and swooning the next. Meghan Quinn blends laugh-out-loud humor, emotional depth, and perfectly timed spice like few authors can.
Speaking of spice… This one is a slow burn with major payoff. Once it heats up, it does not stop. I’d give it a solid 3.5 to 4 on the spice scale: open door, emotionally grounded, and steamy enough to steam up your sunglasses.
And shoutout to that cover art—seriously, it's one of my favorites this summer. Bright, bold, and just begging to be read by the pool (which is exactly what I did after my iPad binge-read at night).

I’m a mom of two spirited girls and one oversized Saint Bernard. I have a degree in English from the University of Wisconsin. By day, I work in health care as a Health Literacy expert; by night, I’m off wandering swoony fictional worlds, chasing plot twists and happily-ever-afters. I’ve been in love with the romance genre for as long as I can remember—I've read thousands of love stories and even had my own meet-cute with my library director husband… in a bookstore, of course.
